Prices & Packages — How House Moves Are Costed in Bulgaria

| City | Typical access notes | Parking/permit tip | Elevator/building | Shuttle/hoist triggers | Local tip |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sofia | Central districts may enforce loading windows; older lifts vary | Apply 48–72h ahead; display permit at entrance | Book pads; confirm cabin size & max load | >4th floor w/out lift; tight stair turns | Avoid morning peak; prefer mid‑morning slots |
| Varna | Seasonal seaside traffic; resort zones controlled | Reserve street bays 48–72h ahead | Lifts vary by block; check door width | Sea Garden/resort streets too narrow | Weekday mornings best in high season |
| Plovdiv | Old Town cobbles & narrow lanes | Permit + bay near perimeter roads | Many heritage buildings lack large lifts | 3rd–5th floor, no lift; tight turns | Stage shuttle from wider access road |
| Burgas | Apartment blocks often require lift booking | Reserve bay; share entrance photos | Confirm lift dimensions & load rating | Pedestrian seafront sections | Windy seafront: secure light items |
| Ruse | Historic centre with cobbles; Danube embankment | Temporary bay via municipality | Older blocks; small lifts common | Long carries from riverside | Border traffic can affect timing |
| Veliko Tarnovo | Steep hills & switchbacks; terrace streets | Bay on nearest terrace; cones recommended | Lifts rare in older buildings | External hoist often faster | Avoid festival/event days |
| Stara Zagora | Wide boulevards; estates w/ inner courtyards | Pre‑book courtyard access if gated | Lifts common; verify cabin depth | Courtyard width <3 m | Midday slots avoid school rush |
| Pleven | Mixed modern/pre‑war housing | Bay + elevator slot if needed | Small lifts; measure door width | Long carry >40–60 m | Add trolleys for long corridors |
| Bansko (resort) | Pedestrian/hotel zones; winter peaks | Pre‑authorise hotel/service bay | Hotel lifts ok; protect cabins | Hoist for chalets w/ narrow stairs | Coordinate with reception/security |
| Sunny Beach/Nessebar | Seasonal restrictions; timed windows | Service‑road access; passes needed | Apartment lifts; check rules | Old Town pedestrian areas | Avoid weekend change‑over days |
| Golden Sands / Sts. Const. | Resort complexes with security gates | Pre‑register vehicle details | Lifts vary; book pads | Height limits at entrances | Morning weekday delivery preferred |

| Munich → Plovdiv | ~1,600 km | 3–5 days | 2–3 days | Old Town may need shuttle |
| Vienna → Varna | ~1,400 km | 3–4 days | 1–2 days | Reserve seaside bays in summer |
| Frankfurt → Burgas | ~2,000 km | 3–5 days | 2–3 days | Add unpacking for same‑day setup |
| Stuttgart → Sofia | ~1,700 km | 3–5 days | 1–3 days | Morning delivery helps avoid ring‑road traffic |
| Cologne → Plovdiv | ~2,000 km | 3–5 days | 2–3 days | Check lift sizes in pre‑war buildings |
| Prague → Varna | ~1,500 km | 3–5 days | 2–3 days | Summer coastal traffic; weekday delivery |
| Vienna → Sofia | ~900 km | 2–4 days | 1–2 days | Quicker lane; pre‑reserve parking bay |
What shifts ETA most: access (permits, elevator bookings, long carries), need for shuttle/hoist, peak weekends, resort seasons, and service choice.

FAQs (high‑intent)
How do you calculate the price for a house move?
We build a fixed quote from 5 inputs:
- Volume & weight (m³ / kg) of your inventory.
- Route & distance (pickup → destination, tolls/e‑vignettes).
- Access at both ends (floors, elevator size, long carries, parking permits).
- Service speed (budget part‑load vs dedicated express with fixed dates).
- Seasonality/timing (month‑end, summer weekends).
Example: Family 30 (≈30 m³) Munich → Plovdiv with lifts both ends: Dedicated = 2–3 days; Part‑load = 3–5 days.
What’s the cheapest way to move a full home to Bulgaria?
- Cut volume: sell/donate bulky, replaceable items pre‑survey.
- Choose part‑load and keep dates flexible.
- Avoid peak dates (month‑end, high season weekends).
- Reserve street bays/elevator pads early to avoid waiting time.
- Self‑pack sturdy boxes (≤20 kg) and label Room + Priority.
Do you offer express dates (e.g., key handover)?
Yes — book a dedicated van for fixed load/delivery days (often 1–3 days EU→BG). We confirm your slot after the video survey and deposit. Ideal for key‑handover and tight move‑in windows.
Are household goods duty‑free within the EU?
Generally yes for personal household effects moved within the EU. City permits, building rules, and resort access windows may still apply. If you’re moving pets/vehicles, prepare the relevant EU documents.
Can you pack, disassemble and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Options: full packing, fragile‑only, or assisted packing. We can disassemble/reassemble beds, wardrobes, tables; we bag & label fittings and tape them to the item. Custom crating available for glass/art.
What can’t go in the van?
Hazardous/pressurised items (solvents/paints/gas), loose lithium batteries, perishables, and live plants. Valuables/IDs should be hand‑carried. See the What We Can’t Load section for details.
How does insurance work for house moves?
Standard carrier liability is included; enhanced cover is available for high‑value/antique pieces. Keep an inventory and take pre‑pack photos. If something’s not right on delivery, note it before signing and contact your coordinator.
Do you offer storage‑in‑transit if dates don’t match?
Yes — short‑term SIT bridges gap days; longer storage is available on request. We deliver once you have keys and access. SIT is billed by m³ + time; ask us to add it to your quote.
